Directions:
On the A5102 from Bramhall to Davenport, follow the signs. British Rail Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall are close by.

Exhibition Policy: A restored "Black and White" Cheshire manor house, featuring British furniture from the 16th-19th century, including pieces by Pugin, Alexander W.N. Inlaid credenza and side tables. Paintings by Schmalz, H Rabboni; including "Where is the Lord my King", Of particular interest are the medieval wall paintings in the Ballroom.

Food & Drink Stables Tea Rooms open 10.15am to 5.15pm in summer and 11.15am to 4.15pm in winter.

Shop: The Hall gift shop sells a variety of souvenirs.

Visitors With Special Needs: Disabled access to ground floor only, where only some of the family portraits can be viewed. Baby changing facilities available.

Group Visits: Contact the general enquiries number for special group rates.

This is a fine example of a black and white timber framed house containing period furniture. Family home of the Davenports for over 500 years, greatly remodeled by Victorian owner, Charles Nevill. Recent developments include the Victoria Kitchen, the Servants Quarters and Mary Nevill's Boudoir.

Concerts and events arranged throughout the year, including Living History Days, Shakespeare in the Park and Opera. Phone for further details.

Directions
The gallery is located at the corner of Greek St and Wellington Rd South. Regular bus services pass the gallery. Stockport bus station is a short walk away on Wellington Rd. Stockport railway station is also only a short walk away.

By car: The college car park on Greek St is open to the public on Saturdays. Parking below Stopford House (Piccadilly) or in nearby streets.

Exhibition Policy: The gallery shows a rotating selection of works from it’s own collection plus exhibitions of work by contemporary artists, many from the region.

Support Organisations: The gallery is run by Stockport Borough Council

Special Events/Facilities for Children: There is a Saturday morning club for children from 10:30 am – 12:30pm

Visitors With Special Needs: Disabled access to the building (lower floor galleries and toilet) are via the ramp to the front entrance from the Stockport College car park.

The Artlink exhibition area shows work by local artists that is for sale. You can join Artlink for £20 which entitles you to loan pictures from Artlink.

Opening Times - Daily 1pm - 5pm. Admission is free. Closed weekdays from November to March.

Directions: In Vernon Park, look for the Vernon Building and you are not far away, but the signs to the museum are sporadic so I suggest you locate Turncroft Rd on a map before you make the journey.

Exhibition Policy: A limited collection of around a dozen nondescript paintings from the Victorian collection of J Smith MP donated in 1842. Personally I would not recommend this museum unless you are also interested in local history of Stockport.

Food & Drink There is a café on the premises

Visitors With Special Needs: The paintings are in the stairwell, so not viewable from a wheelchair.
