Aware Photographic Arts Centre4 Sefton Grove (
0151-727-7421 AWARE Photographic Arts is a Community based photographic workshop which offer a friendly atmosphere, with help, advice and support. Open - Monday to Friday, but it is advisable to ring first. The Lark Lane Studio facilities include darkroom and processing, photographic Studio, digital workstation with Adobe Photoshop, 35mm negative and flatbed scanning, and up to A3 output. All facilities are available for hire. AWARE also run a mobile photographic unit which is able to take the experience of photography out into the community. From primary school age through to old age pensioners, able bodied or special needs (including visually impaired), everyone can enjoy this unique experience.

0779 665 8498 The gallery is based in a popular location near Asda and Aldi on Smithdown Road. The coffee shop is on street level making it wheelchair friendly and there is a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating and reading material provided. The gallery is run by two practicing local artists Lis Edgar and Sue Lucine. The exhibitions concentrate mainly on showing local artists work, one person exhibitions for a period of one and a half months. All work on display is for sale. Open seven days a week 9 - 5.

Do not expect the splendour of the "Royal Academy", the academy has more of the atmosphere of a village hall. However you will find here a constantly changing display of work by many local artists, mostly amateur, which are for sale and modestly priced.

The gallery is on the corner of Wood St and Concert Square, a short
walk from Central Station. Although at ground level a special lift eases wheelchair access
to the building. Young budding photographers might like to join "Young Eyes" and take part in workshops and other events for 11-16 year olds. Contact Helen James at the gallery.
