Storey GalleryStorey Institute Opening Times 10am - 4pm Monday - Saturday. Admission is free. The Storey Gallery is near the Castle, a short walk from the station. This is an artist-led gallery which runs temporary exhibitions of contemporary visual art in all media. Adjoining the Gallery is a walled garden, in one half of which is a permanent
environmental artwork, "The Tasting Garden", by Mark Dion. This was
created in 1998 as one site in Artranspennine '98.

Sultan GalleryBrock Street Open Sunday to Thursday: 10am - 5pm, Friday and Saturday: 10am - 10pm. An Indian restaurant, the Sultan of Lancaster, houses a contemporary art gallery, showing art inspired by Islamic values and principles. The Sultan of Lancaster Art Gallery displays work by local and international artists on a regular basis. The Art Gallery continues to evolve, developing artwork themes for existing and new audiences. As well as displaying pieces of artwork, the gallery has extended its function to facilitating workshops and artists talks for all ages.
