Opening Times
Monday - Saturday (from 10th February until 22nd December) 10.30am - 5pm, closes 4pm Feb, Mar, Nov & Dec. Admission Adult £3, OAP's £2.80, children/students £1.50. Season tickets are available. Now closed on Sunday.

The gallery is on the same site as the Museum of Lakeland Life, and is reached by following the one way system around Kendal, and is off Highgate. Follow the museum signs. The gallery has its own free car park, so go through the pay and display car park and park outside the gallery entrance.

The permanent collection has some impressive contemporary works by Lucien Freud, Bridget Riley, Stanley Spencer, Frank Auerbach and many others. On the ground floor is an extensive collection of work by George Rowney and a watercolour gallery showing work by Turner, Constable, Ruskin, Edward Lear and Joseph Wright of Derby.

There is a tea room downstairs which serves excellent lunches, and also displays contemporary art. There is wheelchair access to all areas via the café.

The Warehouse Gallery is in a separate building with it's own entrance off the courtyard. The Sugar Store Gallery is in the main building on the first floor. Other work is displayed in the café, the foyer and the glass case.

At the front is a shop selling gemstones, behind this is a gallery showing contemporary artwork for sale, and behind that is a permanent exhibition of sculpture by Josefina de Vasconcellos of the Oddfellows Contemporary Sculpture Studio. There is a café attached to the gallery.
