On the northern side of Halifax, just off the A629, lies Dean Clough. Originally a complex of carpet weaving factories this site now hosts many small businesses, a theatre and several art galleries. Head for gate 1 and park at the pay and display visitor car park. The exhibition spaces include purpose built galleries, but there are also hundreds of contemporary works in the corridors, which you are free to roam. Also in the complex is the Henry Moore Foundation Studio, which is open Wednesday - Sunday, noon - 5pm. Dean Clough is home to around 20 studio artists.
