Opening Times
Daily throughout the year, but times vary, check the website for details. Admission to the gallery is free (some exhibitions in the Special Exhibitions Gallery are not free).

A short walk from the Cathedral, nearest parking is on Devonshire Walk off Castle Way. Follow the museum symbol. Nearest station is Carlisle (Citadel).

The gallery is a large purpose built room and holds a regularly changing programme of exhibitions.

The museum is suitable for wheelchair access, there is a restaurant/cafeteria on the premises.

A cooperative of 22 resident artists and a growing list of associate artists.  There is a membership fee per annum is £25 to associate members for which we are able to offer a gallery/project space to display work, inclusion in studio activities, commissions as they present themselves and 'crits' with other artists as well as a social forum.

At present the range of disciplines is painting, ceramics, photography, silver smith and carving, millinery and weaving.

Most of the resident members are graduates with some Masters in their field who have audiences nationally and internationally.

The group is committed to bringing art to the local community and was set up by a core of ex Shaddon Mill Studio members in July 2004.
