Bury Art Gallery is located in the centre of Bury, 2 minutes walk from the
bus/tram interchange. Bury is 25 minutes by tram from Manchester and 5 minutes
by car from the M66 (junction 2). Some short stay parking directly outside.
The permanent exhibition houses the Thomas Wrigley Collection of Victorian
landscape painting and narrative art. Works by Turner, Constable, David Cox,
Davis Roberts, Landseer. Also includes works by the sculptor Jacob Epstein. 20th
century art includes work by Burra, Passmore and Lowry.
Special facilities for children include an Art Trolley available on Saturdays,
workshops for 8 - 14 year olds with the artist in residence, and a Saturday Arts
Club for 5 - 7 year olds.
The gallery has full disabled access.
