Address: Queen St, Follow signs for the North Shore. Queen Street is off the promenade near the North Pier. There is a pay and display car park next to the gallery, but if it is full, or if you get lost aim for the Talbot St Car Park, there are plenty of signs, which is above the bus station. Then cross over Talbot Rd, down Dickson Rd, and turn left on Queen St. The gallery is next to the public library. The gallery is an oasis of culture in the desert that is Blackpool. There are some excellent works in the permanent collection by Augustus John, Henry Scott Tuke and Charles Spencelayh. The gallery is on the ground floor and there is a wheelchair ramp. Admission is free, but there is a collection box at the door. There is a small gift shop. last updated 12th March 2000 |
